INA PAACE Automechanika Mexico is the most important automotive trade fair in Mexico and the Latin American continent, attracting thousands of visitors from the automotive industry from around the world. This year's edition will be held on July 11-13, 2018 at the CitiBanamex Center in the City of Mexico and will focus on the car parts market. Five Polish companies have already declared their participation in the event, including the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), which will organize a national stand (No. 2023). It will be not only a point of contact for Polish producers planning their expansion in this market, but also a place for business meetings, distribution of the industry folder and promotional materials. On Thursday, 12 July this year, at 13:00 a press briefing will be held, gathering media representatives, opinion leaders as well as representatives of the industry. During the speech of Bartosz Mielecki, Managing Director of the Polish Automotive Group, they will be acquainted with the potential of the Polish automotive parts sector.
- Mexico for Polish manufacturers of car parts is today a window on the world of motoring - Bartosz Mielecki stresses, who is also an expert PAIH in the BRAND program. - This is the effect of the dynamically developing economy, the close proximity of the largest economies of the world and the still-binding North American Free Trade Agreement, or trade agreements with 45 countries. Examples of the success of Polish companies such as the Boryszew Group, which in Mexico since 2015 produces and supplies air conditioning ducts for Audi and Volkswagen or the company BURY - suppliers of advanced multimedia systems, are a model for our next manufacturers of car parts.
Polish manufacturers of car parts are more and more active in Mexico. The production of components dedicated to Teramont cars will start in November at the Maflow factory. This is another project for the largest European automotive concern of the VW Group. It will be implemented until 2022. Sanok Rubber, a leading manufacturer of car body and anti-vibration seals for shock absorbers, exhaust and steering systems as well as rocker arms, will expand its expansion. This year, TIP-TOPOL, the largest Polish manufacturer of pneumatic suspension membranes, has also signed a large contract.
The automotive sector is one of the most important sectors of the Mexican economy. According to the Automotive Industry Association (AMIA), in 2017 it reached a record high level both in production and in export. The AMIA forecast for 2018 is the production of 4 million units and the export of 3.2 million units. Today, it is the sixth car manufacturer in the world producing 20% of vehicles in North America. In the local sector, which generates 3% of GDP, 870,000 people are employed in 2,500 companies present in 19 states. The largest production facilities in Mexico in 2017 were Nissan (829 262 units), General Motors (805 758 units) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (638,653 units). Due to the anti-Mexican policy of the new US president, China has become interested in this country - the Chinese car giant Great Wall Motor is considering building factories. Currently, 80% of Mexico's automotive production is for export, of which 86% goes to Canada and the United States. These numbers are growing rapidly - in 2017, exports to the USA increased by as much as 9.4%! Paradoxically, the growth of the Mexican automotive industry is mainly driven by exports to markets outside the region of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Exports to Europe increased by as much as 45.2% as a result of demand from Germany, and shipments to Asia increased by 38.1%.
- The value of trade between our countries is over USD 1.2 billion. Mexico is the third exporter in the region to Poland and the second importer of Polish products. This exchange will grow, and the car parts will undoubtedly be its driving force - explains Patrycja Staszewska, manager of the Foreign Trade Office PAIH in Mexico City. - Mexico, where more than 127 million people live, is a huge market and its economy is 70%. is based on foreign trade.
- It is worth paying attention not only to the export, but also to the fact that over 30 million cars travel on the roads of Mexico, which is one of the most populated countries in the world. Only in the years 2000-2014 17.6 million vehicles joined the traffic. According to economic forecasts, by 2020 the number of vehicles will increase by 22%. All this means that the demand for car parts is growing dynamically and the value of the spare parts market will reach USD 28 billion - emphasizes Patrycja Staszewska.
Poland is one of the largest manufacturers of car parts in the world. Nearly 2,800 companies are registered on the Vistula River, which employs 175,000 people. In 2017, the value of exports of the Polish automotive market amounted to USD 25 billion, which corresponds to 13% of the total value of Polish exports. The main recipients of Polish products are: Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
